The vast majority – around 70% – of passengers both in Europe and the US would like to have their flight powered by Renewable Jet Fuel. Passengers across markets are also willing to pay over 5 dollars already for low blends of RJF, which means that people find it important that concrete steps are taken towards making air travel more sustainable. Charging a moderate fee for renewable fuels could well be a gateway into higher blends of RJF.
Over 50% of passengers consider it important that their airline goes above and beyond regulations in order to be environmentally friendly. The majority of passengers are willing to pay a mandatory RJF fee, and this may even positively impact airline and airport preference.
Over 600 respondents among passengers at airports in in Europe and in the US answered Neste’s web survey. The attitudinal results are generally representative of passengers in these areas.
